Quotes in a Box

Supplies:
small aluminum box (you can find them at a Craft Store)
white card stock
white printer paper
wide ribbon (any color that matches the box)
ruler
tacky glue

Measure the inside of the box. Cut out 12 pieces of card stock to fit inside the box. Lay the 12 pieces of card stock out on the table one on top of each other. Cut two strips of ribbon the length of the 12 card stocks plus 1/2 inch. Then glue the ribbon to the front edge of the first card stock and then the back of the second card stock and so on. Then do the opposite for the other side of the card stock.
Now print 12 of your favorite quotes on a piece of paper. Cut each quote out and glue one to the front of each of the 12 card stock. When the glue dries completely, fold your card stock like a fan and glue the last one in the bottom of the tin.

Jewelry - Vintage Pendant

This pendant was made with my Grandmother's jewelry. It was an earring that I made into a pendant.

Insecticide Spray

I am still making lotions and potions with all of the essential oils I bought. The insect repellent (blog post 7/1/13) worked for about fifteen minutes before the mosquitoes decided the spray tasted like a marinade and NOT a repellent! The deodorant (blog post 7/3/13) worked but I would not recommend traveling with it. It was a melted mess when I arrived at our destination. I will make more and use it only in my home. My next experiment is a homemade insecticide spray. I adapted this one so my husband can use it on his garden. Insecticide Spray   1/2 head of garlic (you do not need to peel them) 1/2 T of pepper flakes 1/2 cup water   Process in a blender until smooth then pout mixture through a sieve to remove chunks of garlic or pepper flakes. This is your "base."   Pour your base mixture into a spray bottle. Add 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of Jojoba oil. Screw on top and shake.
