Cheesy Garlic Crackers

These are an easy cracker to make for a brunch, after school snack or have with wine!

1-1/4 cups all purpose flout
1/8 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup (4oz) lightly packed grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter cut into small chunks
1 T plus 1 tsp cold water

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Place the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Mix. Then add butter, cheese and water. Mix with food processor until it forms a firm dough ball.

Roll dough into a  log and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Then slice into 1/8 inch rounds with a sharp knife. You can also roll out the dough on a floured surface and use cookie cutters to make fun shapes. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Cook for 7-9 minutes until bottoms are brown. Makes approx. 2 dozen.

Jewelry - Vintage Pendant

This pendant was made with my Grandmother's jewelry. It was an earring that I made into a pendant.

Insecticide Spray

I am still making lotions and potions with all of the essential oils I bought. The insect repellent (blog post 7/1/13) worked for about fifteen minutes before the mosquitoes decided the spray tasted like a marinade and NOT a repellent! The deodorant (blog post 7/3/13) worked but I would not recommend traveling with it. It was a melted mess when I arrived at our destination. I will make more and use it only in my home. My next experiment is a homemade insecticide spray. I adapted this one so my husband can use it on his garden. Insecticide Spray   1/2 head of garlic (you do not need to peel them) 1/2 T of pepper flakes 1/2 cup water   Process in a blender until smooth then pout mixture through a sieve to remove chunks of garlic or pepper flakes. This is your "base."   Pour your base mixture into a spray bottle. Add 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of Jojoba oil. Screw on top and shake.
