Mother's/Women/ Special People in your Life Day Card


Supplies:
pre-cut card stock flowers
colorful tabs
card stock
glue
ice-pick

Fold a piece of card stock in half. Use the end of a butter knife to flatten the fold by pressing on the fold. Ask an adult to pierce holes in the center of the pre-cut flowers with an ice-pick. Then thread the flowers onto the tab starting with the smallest flower. Cut strips of paper to make stems. glue onto card stock. Then glue flowers to the end of card stock. Write your own poem or find one on the Internet and glue on the inside of the card.

Insecticide Spray

I am still making lotions and potions with all of the essential oils I bought. The insect repellent (blog post 7/1/13) worked for about fifteen minutes before the mosquitoes decided the spray tasted like a marinade and NOT a repellent! The deodorant (blog post 7/3/13) worked but I would not recommend traveling with it. It was a melted mess when I arrived at our destination. I will make more and use it only in my home. My next experiment is a homemade insecticide spray. I adapted this one so my husband can use it on his garden. Insecticide Spray   1/2 head of garlic (you do not need to peel them) 1/2 T of pepper flakes 1/2 cup water   Process in a blender until smooth then pout mixture through a sieve to remove chunks of garlic or pepper flakes. This is your "base."   Pour your base mixture into a spray bottle. Add 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of Jojoba oil. Screw on top and shake.
