Home Decor - Paper Lantern - this only takes a minute to add a little sparkle to your party

Here is an easy way to add a little sparkle to your summer parties. I found these small paper lanterns at Michaels Craft store and sprayed one coat of glitter spray paint on the outside of the paper lantern and then added a battery operated tea light inside.

Glitter Paper Lantern with a light

Supplies:
string
glitter spray paint
card stock
battery operated tea light
Before you assemeble the lantern, cut a circle from craft paper a little larger than the opening of the lantern. Then add a battery operated tea light. Now assemble the lantern by inserting the wire to hold the lantern open. Bend the wire up to make a hook. Add string and hang.

Jewelry - Vintage Pendant

This pendant was made with my Grandmother's jewelry. It was an earring that I made into a pendant.

Insecticide Spray

I am still making lotions and potions with all of the essential oils I bought. The insect repellent (blog post 7/1/13) worked for about fifteen minutes before the mosquitoes decided the spray tasted like a marinade and NOT a repellent! The deodorant (blog post 7/3/13) worked but I would not recommend traveling with it. It was a melted mess when I arrived at our destination. I will make more and use it only in my home. My next experiment is a homemade insecticide spray. I adapted this one so my husband can use it on his garden. Insecticide Spray   1/2 head of garlic (you do not need to peel them) 1/2 T of pepper flakes 1/2 cup water   Process in a blender until smooth then pout mixture through a sieve to remove chunks of garlic or pepper flakes. This is your "base."   Pour your base mixture into a spray bottle. Add 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of Jojoba oil. Screw on top and shake.
