Jewelry - Bracelet

This is a fun craft for your teens to make. It is easy and a boredom buster!

Supplies:
cotton webbing or twill tape 1-1/4" or 1-1/2"
stitch witchery tape
trim
ribbon
scissors

Cut cotton webbing the size of wrist plus 1/4 inch. Fold ends over and iron the fold closed with the stitch witchery. Cut trim to desired length and iron it on with the stitch witchery. Cut two pieces of ribbon the length of the webbing plus an extra 6 inches. Iron on the ribbon with the stitch witchery leaving 3 inches hanging off on both sides. You will be able to tie the bracelet on to your wrist with the extra ribbon. To give the bracelet a finished look cut the ribbon the width of the webbing times two. Iron on with the stitch witchery to the end of the webbing to cover over the fold.

Jewelry - Vintage Pendant

This pendant was made with my Grandmother's jewelry. It was an earring that I made into a pendant.

Insecticide Spray

I am still making lotions and potions with all of the essential oils I bought. The insect repellent (blog post 7/1/13) worked for about fifteen minutes before the mosquitoes decided the spray tasted like a marinade and NOT a repellent! The deodorant (blog post 7/3/13) worked but I would not recommend traveling with it. It was a melted mess when I arrived at our destination. I will make more and use it only in my home. My next experiment is a homemade insecticide spray. I adapted this one so my husband can use it on his garden. Insecticide Spray   1/2 head of garlic (you do not need to peel them) 1/2 T of pepper flakes 1/2 cup water   Process in a blender until smooth then pout mixture through a sieve to remove chunks of garlic or pepper flakes. This is your "base."   Pour your base mixture into a spray bottle. Add 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of Jojoba oil. Screw on top and shake.
